Morning Ritual

Rain taps gently on the skylight,

Filmy curtains cloak the morning chill,

Maple muesli toasting in the oven.

Lavender upon the window sill.

Cosily, I curl up on the sofa,

Waiting laptop cradled on my knees.

Words pour slowly from my fingers,

Favourite purple rug around my feet.
